Johnny O’Brien is a visionary leader with a distinguished career in advancing health and human services for underserved communities. As CEO of Family Bridges, he leverages extensive experience leading community health organizations to expand access to culturally responsive, high-quality care across California.
Mr. O’Brien has successfully spearheaded initiatives such as primary and specialty clinic expansions, school-based health centers, Medi-Cal and Medicare enrollment programs, and community advocacy efforts. His work has consistently improved access to care for low-income families, seniors, and diverse populations.
Johnny holds a Master of Public Health from San Jose State University and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from UC Riverside. With expertise in strategic planning, operational leadership, and fund development, he is committed to promoting equity and transformative solutions for vulnerable populations.
Monica Lau is a nonprofit leader with more than 30 years of dedicated service at Family Bridges Inc., where she has played a key role in expanding programs and strengthening services for seniors, families, immigrants, and underserved communities. Born and raised in Hong Kong, Monica later immigrated to the United States and has devoted her career to community service and nonprofit leadership.
She began her career at Family Bridges as a Program Assistant and, through years of dedication and leadership, worked her way up to become Chief Operating Officer. In this role, she oversees multiple programs and departments while guiding the organization’s growth and long-term sustainability.
Monica is recognized for her successful fundraising initiatives and strong community partnerships, which have generated vital resources supporting programs that improve the lives of thousands. Fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English, she is known for her collaborative leadership style and lifelong commitment to helping communities in need.
With over 39 years of experience in entrepreneurship, financial management, and nonprofit leadership, Johnny DaRosa serves as the Chief Financial Officer at Family Bridges Inc. He is deeply committed to enhancing community well-being through senior care services, early childhood education, and local development initiatives.
Throughout their career, J. DaRosa has combined strong fiscal stewardship with a mission-driven purpose—helping organizations maintain quality care, increase access, and create opportunities across generations. Drawing from decades of entrepreneurial success, J. DaRosa has built and led teams that merge financial strength with human compassion, ensuring that every investment delivers lasting impact.
In the senior care field, J. DaRosa has led efforts to strengthen day programs, wellness centers, and social services—creating sustainable financial models that safeguard vulnerable seniors while supporting families. In childcare and youth programs, J. DaRosa has implemented strategic systems that promote safe, nurturing, and innovative learning environments, ensuring equity and access for all children.
J. DaRosa earned a PhD in Urban Planning, a Master of Real Estate Development, a Master of Business Administration, and a Bachelor of Architecture.
As a collaborative leader, J Darosa is known for building bridges—between boards, staff, funders, and community partners—to align financial clarity with organizational mission. Their leadership philosophy focuses on accountability, transparency, and shared growth—values that guide every stage of their professional journey.
