About Us
Family Bridges, Inc. proudly serves 10,000 clients annually, primarily monolingual and limited English proficient (LEP) individuals from Asian-speaking communities. Our programs are designed to support low-income residents of the East Bay and include Social Services, Hong Lok Senior Center, Visiting Program, Hong Fook Community-Based Adult Services Centers, Lake Merritt Child Care Center, and Housing & Community Services.
Our Services
Our specialization in aiding the Asian community, many Family Bridges staff members and volunteers can speak Cantonese, Mandarin, Korean, Vietnamese and, as well as English.
Social Services Program
Have questions about citizenshipor community programs, or need help understanding letters or bills? Our Social Services team provides general information and referrals, citizenship assistance, and translation services to help you navigate the complexities of daily life.
Hong Lok Senior Center
Our Hong Lok Senior Center provides a safe, welcoming space for seniors (ages 55+) to connect with others, enjoying enriching activities, and strengthen their independence.
Visiting Program
Cantonese and Mandarin-speaking seniors in North Alameda County receive regular visits, phone check-ins, and light shopping assistance through our Visiting Program. Volunteers offer isolated seniors a vital connection to the outside world and compassionate companionship.
Hong Fook CBAS Centers
Located in the historic Hotel Oakland, our Hong Fook Community-Based Adult Services Centers support frail seniors and adults with disabilities. We offer therapeutic activities and health services in a safe, supportive environment, helping clients regain independence and offering caregivers respite.
Lake Merritt Child Care Center
Our Lake Merritt Child Center provides a warm and nurturing environment for preschoolers. We offer peace of mind to working parents, ensuring their children are in a safe and caring space, where they grow and learn each day.
Housing & Community Services
We are dedicated to creating a secure and inclusive environment for everyone—whether houseless, a merchant, resident, or visitor. Our team treats each community member with dignity and respect while working to address housing challenges and strengthen our neighborhoods.
